Instructions
- Hair ties (I was lucky enough to find a packet of 50 assorted colors at Joanne’s for 50c a few months ago)
- Scrap pieces of fabric
- Mod Podge and brush
- Embroidery thread and needle
- Felt
- Leaves from silk flowers
To make:
Cut the flowers out of the fabric
Coat the top of the flowers with Mod Podge and leave to dry, then do the same to the reverse side.
Prepare the flowers. With the red and white flowers I glued each one to a piece of white felt and cut around the felt to make the flower a little larger and thicker. For the blue flower, I cut the petals to give them more movement.
Cut a small length of embroidery thread (don’t separate the strands) and tie a double knot in one end. Thread the other end through the needle and push it through the top of the flower, down into the hair tie and secure tightly. Adding the stamen gives the flower a little more dimension. Repeat this step 3-4 times.
Done!
