Each year I purchase the twins one new outfit and a new backpack before school starts back. I love seeing their faces light up on that first day when they are dressed in new clothes. Clothes that don’t have holes or stains. Plus a backpack that doesn’t have jammed zippers or holes on the bottom from being dragged on the ground.

This year we were given the opportunity to shop at Sears for new backpacks and back to school outfits. Here is what we got:

  • Toughskins Floral-Print Skinny Jeans – $30.00
  • Toughskins Girl’s Pleated Scooter Skirt – $14.00
  • Horse Graphic T-Shirt – $14.99
  • Hello Kitty Backpack – $29.98

She absolutely loves her new outfits. Although she normally won’t wear jeans (except for horse-riding lessons), she fell in love with this floral pair (in fact you may have spotted her wearing them recently). She did insist that we also purchase a skirt. The pleated scooter skirt has shorts underneath which are great for warm weather, plus she can wear leggings underneath on cooler days. Of course, an outfit for a little horse lover isn’t complete without a new horse t-shirt to add to her growing collection.

She had initially chosen a different backpack when we walked into the store, but as we were standing at the checkout she spotted a Hello Kitty collection nearby. The other backpack was put back on the shelf and she grabbed this one instead.

  • Levi’s Regular Fit 514TM Jeans – $24.99
  • Docker’s Boy’s Uniform Polo Shirt – $12.00
  • Super Mario Brothers Boy’s Character T-Shirt – $9.98
  • Angry Birds Boy’s Backpack – $15.00

As soon as we entered the Sears kids department, he spotted a Super Mario shirt and demanded we buy it. After a little negotiating, we settled on a black one. Jeans were super easy to choose. He doesn’t care what they look like as long as they are comfortable and have elastic on the inside to adjust the waist. These ones have lots of growing room too. I love him in polo shirts, so we purchased one to wear for special days at school when he wants to be a little dressier than normal.

After we were done shopping for the kids, we picked up a second backpack and horse graphic t-shirt and dropped them off at SAY San Diego. They are a local non-profit organization in need of back to school items for children.
