If you haven’t visited Legoland California or Knott’s Berry Farm in a while, here’s what’s new. It’s time for another visit.

Disclosure: The kids and I are often invited to media events and sometimes receive passes to visit these parks.

If you are looking for somewhere to take the kids this summer vacation two of our favorite Southern California theme parks have new attractions and great deals happening.

Legoland California

Legoland California

McDonald’s is running a promotion in SoCal restaurants (L.A. and San Diego) from June 29 to July 31. It is a Kids Go Free offer with any purchase at a participating McDonald’s in the promotional period. Kids Go Free with paid adult ticket to LEGOLAND® California Resort and your choice of LEGOLAND Water Park or SEA LIFE® Aquarium.  It is a $104 value!

And, if you haven’t been to LEGOLAND California in a while, LEGO Friends Heartlake City is now open!

You can dance and sing along at Friends Forever Stage, splash about in the Heartlake Fountain, build inside Heartlake Stables and go for a horseback ride on the 60-horse carousel at Mia’s Riding Camp. Also, pick up something sweet to enjoy at City Park Crêperie, which has freshly made crêpes.

Don’t forget to extend your stay by booking accommodation at the LEGOLAND Hotel so you can also take full advantage of visiting the LEGOLAND Chima Water Park and the SEA LIFE® Aquarium.

Knott’s Berry Farm

Knott's Berry Farm

The kids and I were lucky enough to be invited to the Voyage to the Iron Reef Media Day back in May, and if you haven’t had a chance to try this new attraction, then you need to add it to your summer fun bucket list.

The new interactive 4-D attraction called Voyage to the Iron Reef takes you on an adventure aboard submarine-inspired vehicles through enchanting underwater forests, disorienting ocean current tunnels, mysterious mechanical wreckage, and high definition 3D animation. You are in for an exciting adventure as they journey beneath the Knott’s Boardwalk.

Grab a freeze ray and join the battle to save Knott’s from the mysterious creatures that are emerging from the waters beneath the Boardwalk! Who will get the highest score?

Also knew at Knott’s is the Snoopy ice show, Blockbuster Beagle! and two new extreme acrobatic stunt shows.

Extend your stay by booking accommodation at the Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel to also take advantage of Knott’s Soak City.

Here are the current pricing deals:

  • Ride and Slide – 2 parks in one fun day. $60 (plus applicable taxes and fees)
  • Gold Season Passes – 2 parks in four easy payments of $28. (offer ends July 5)

4TH JULY FIREWORKS

If you are looking for a kid-friendly location to take the kids to watch fireworks this 4th of July, both LEGOLAND California and Knott’s Berry Farm are celebrating with live entertainment, activities, and of course fireworks.
