Are you heading out on a road trip this winter? Christmas is in just a few days, then New Year's Eve, and of course the kids are on winter break from school as of this afternoon.
We won't be hitting the road this winter on an epic adventure, aside from day trips to the snow and other fun winter-themed activities. Instead the kids and I will be flying to Kentucky to start our day trip adventures from there. I didn't like the idea of braving the freezing, snowy weather driving across country like we did over the summer. Mike did it last year coming out to visit us and there were times he was snowed in at hotels and it took him longer than normal to get out here which of course left him exhausted.
But if you are heading out on the road this holiday season, I've put together a few tips to make the trip go smoothly, especially if you have kids.
Vehicle safety is number one, especially over winter as the ice, snow, rain, and wind can make the driving conditions hazardous. I'm sharing a whole lot of tips that will keep you safe on the road this winter season over at 5 Minutes for Mom. So head on over and get your vehicle in tip-top shape before heading out on the road.
Next, let's talk about kids. Because let's face it kids do not like being stuck in the car for long periods of time, and hearing 'are we there yet' can become tiring for everyone in the vehicle. So I have this fun 'surprise' kit over at MyPrintly that is sure to keep them entertained on the road.
And lastly, let's talk about recording your road trip memories. If you haven't seen the Sprocket printer, then you will definitely want this fun little printer to take on your road trip and day trip adventures. I'm showing you how to take photos and print them on-the-go, and record your memories while you are on the road so it doesn't get put into the 'will do later' box when you get home.
Now, go have an epic winter vacation with your family.
