Take time out this busy holiday season and have a family game night. Between holiday parties, gift buying, and visiting family and friends, the holiday season can be exhausting. So set a night aside for yummy food and board games with the kids.
The twins love LEGO, especially the little man. So LEGO Minotaurus was a big hit when we opened it up. While the kids and hubby set to work building the game ... that's right, you actually build the game before playing it, how cool is that ... I set to work making hot chocolate and laying out everyone's favorite snacks.
Game night snack suggestions:
And once the game was built, and the yummy snacks were laid out it was time to play.
How are board games a bonding experience for your family? Reply for a chance to win one of five ultimate LEGO® Games prize packs which include 3 LEGO Games, a $30 iTunes gift card and a copy of Gourmet Game Night!!

I think my friends at Klutz knew about my little obsession with adorable monsters when they asked me if I'd like a copy of Pom-Pom Monster Salon.
Aren't they just as cute as can be. And super easy to make too.
Also, check out this video for an even better look at how to make them (it's only 47 seconds long).
Honestly, I don't know who is more excited about this kit, the kids or me. Sure they love their little monsters and cannot wait to make more, but I can finally throw away the cardboard circles I cut out years ago that I've used over and over to make pom-poms. Now I have a fun pom-pom maker ... I mean the kids have a fun pom-pom maker. Being a knitter I have baskets and bags full of yarn, we could curl up on the couch in front of the fire and make pom-poms all winter long. We can decorate gifts and attach them to scarves and hats.
And guess what, I'm giving two of these Pom-Pom Monster Salon kits away, and if you are looking for the perfect gift for the holidays I have a coupon code too.
With Pom-Pom Monster Salon, anyone can make pom-poms and turn them into stylish monsters. Use our exclusive pom-pom maker and follow our cutting and styling instructions to create perfectly coifed mop tops, afros, pigtails, and mohawks to name a few. Add tiny hair bows, punch-out feet, and foam horns and teeth for the final touches.

Looking for an Easter craft to do with all of those egg cartons that you hoard? I have just the thing.
Easter Checkers.
This is what you will need to make this fun Easter game for the kids:
To make the bunnies:
Paint the egg cups with the matte pink, once dry, paint a second coat using the metallic paint. Cut out ears from the glitter card stock, attach the center using the mini glue spots. Poke a hole in the top of the egg cup with the X-Acto knife and insert the ears, attach to the inside of the egg cup using the mini glue spots. Attach the pom pom tail using the medium glue spots and the wiggly eyes using the mini glue spots. Draw on the rest of the facial features using a permanent marker.
To make the chicks:
As per the instructions for the bunnies. Substitute pink paint for yellow. Attach the wings using the medium glue spots and the fuzzy top exactly the same way as you did the bunny ears. Fold a piece of orange card stock in half, cut out small triangles (beak) and attach using mini glue spots.
Now play, play, PLAY!

Looking for a fun activity to do with your children this Spring? They will love this one.
I'm over at the Creativity For Kids blog today, giving you tips on how to get your kids out in nature this Spring and do a fun craft project afterward using the Flower Press & Nature Cards Kit. Come by and say hello.
Disclosure: As a Creativty For Kids Ambassador I am compensated for my posts on their blog.
Instead of celebrating Valentine's Day, the twins preschool are celebrating Friendship Day.
Remember the Friendship Bracelets we made for the girls in the class. Well we made these for the boys.
These are very simple to make. I found the train sand molds at Target. Using the kids crayons I sketched out the picture, scanned it into the computer, added the text, then printed out enough copies for the boys in the class. Then using a couple of Elmer's glue spots, I attached the train to the picture.

Nicole Carpenter who said ... We plan on "sharing" the gift of imagination this season. My two children and I are going to sit down and make our own homemade Christmas cards this year, that way we can share with all of our family and friends.
***************
This is one page of a 6-page coloring book I created on Crayola's Story Studio for Flynn
(P.S. You might need to click on the photo above to read the story)
Isn't it adorable. He's going to love it. Especially the train. I printed it out on card stock and am going to bind it and pop it under the Christmas tree with a box of Crayola Crayons.
Want to make one too? I have a code so you can try it out. Now just make sure you don't use the code until you are ready to go because it only gives you access for 48 hours: Access code: PRY4DBJJ
So to give you a quick run-down of what you do, once you log on and use the access code, you upload a headshot of your child, that gets turned into a character, which you choose a story and costume for. Once you are done editing your story (it took me about 30 minutes from start to finish), you can save it to your Crayola profile and print it out.

A couple of days ago I had a large box of Crayola products turn up on the doorstep from MyBlogSpark. The box contained:
My kids immediately jumped with joy. They love doing activities. But, I sat down and explained to them about the gift of giving over the holiday season and that not all little boys and girls are as lucky as they are. Without whining or complaining they more than happily let me donate these wonderful gifts to a local toy drive. I'm so proud of them. Although I did keep the box of crayons to give to Flynn with his new Crayola Story Studio coloring book ... but shh, he doesn't know.
Now here is where I get to keep on giving.
One of my readers will win:
That's right, all of the items that I received pictured above - value $83. To learn more about these items, please check out the Crayola Holiday Gift Guide.
To enter, answer this question:
How do you plan on giving the gift of imagination this holiday season?

UPDATE: THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED.
The WINNER drawn by Random.org is:
Kelli ... My oldest son, Henry, would love this
I love trying new crafts. I mean ... umm ... my kids love trying new crafts.
Okay, so maybe they didn't get to try one of these, but I got a little giddy when it arrived in the mail and just had to try it out myself.
WINDOW ART
You start by tracing the images on a plastic sleeve with the black outline paint
Once it has dried a little, you fill it in with some color. I thought these fall leaves would look fabulous for Thanksgiving.
You then leave them to dry, peel them off and stick them wherever you like - on windows, glasses, glass dishes, bowls. So many possibilities.
Next up, Marisol and I tried out the
CAPSTERS
This activity was perfect for Miss M. You choose images and charms (or whatever you want really) and stick it all down with the gooey glaze.
So I had to share this image. She was eating a box of raisins while she was working, when she spotted the raisins punch out image in the book.
The book gives you some fabulous ideas on what you can do with your capsters once they are made; magnets, pins, key chains, backpack pulls, the possibilities are endless. We decided to turn a few of them into Christmas tree ornaments by using a hot glue gun and attaching a ribbon to the back of them.
And now, a special holiday treat for you.
1st. A giveaway!
1 winner will receive a HUGE KLUTZ prize pack containing:
Total value: $75.99

I have made crayons from the kids broken crayon pieces before, but I decided to try something a little different this time around.
You will need:
To make:
Pre-heat the oven to 250 (F)
Put the broken pieces of crayon into the muffin pans (you may need to break larger pieces in half)
Put the muffin pans into the oven for about 20 minutes. I recommend using the muffin pans around the outside of the tray and leaving the center ones empty as they take longer to melt.
The crayons turn into liquid (if it has a few small crayon chunks in it too, that's okay).
Very carefully (it's hot) pour the liquid into the candy molds - the possibilities are endless here, you could make these for every occasion).
Place the candy mold in the freezer until the crayons have hardened, then remove.
These are great for adding to Boo Bags or for classroom gifts.
P.S. If you don't know what a Boo Bag is then you need to start one in your neighborhood. There are some great instructions over at Skip To My Lou on how to get started.
