Set sail with these fun Halos sailboat snacks. The kids will absolutely love them.
You'll find all the details on how to make them over at the Halos blog.
In my never-ending quest to find gluten-free foods that all of my kids will eat (because I have one gluten-free kid and I get tired of making double of everything to please everyone), I tried my hand at making gluten-free banana chocolate chip muffins a while ago. They were such a big hit that now I have to purchase bananas weekly and wait for them to become over-ripe to make more. It's become a whole thing in our house, and now I'm wondering why I can't just buy over-ripe bananas ...
So, if you want the recipe (and believe me, if you eat gluten-free then you do), head over to Blissfully Domestic where I'm sharing it with thanks to Bob's Red Mill.

My kids absolutely love to have after school and weekend play dates. Now that they are getting older being around their friends is becoming more and more important to them and I am thankful that my kids friends have amazing parents who I've quickly become friends with too, so it's become quite common for us to text each other from the carpool line to say hey I've got your kid in my car, or don't bother coming up today because I'll grab everyone and take them home.
And yesterday was no different. A quick text to a couple of friends during the day and my daughter's friends were over after school for the afternoon. While they did homework, I set up a hot chocolate bar for them, and they had fun playing with toppings, and squirting whipped cream straight into their mouths and eating snacks before heading into the backyard to play for a little while.
A hot chocolate bar doesn't need to be fancy, it just needs to have a few choices, because everyone likes to experiment with flavor combinations, and everyone has different tastes. I wanted this one to be fall inspired, with fresh fall scents, but still keep what I know kids normally love in their hot chocolate.
First of all though let me share my hot chocolate recipe, it's really simple.

If you are looking for the best weekend or afternoon treat for your little ones then have I got the thing for you.
You know how much I love pairing craft projects or food with books and movies, well today I'm sharing two new Mo Willems books with you, We Are Growing and The Cookie Fiasco. They are the first two books in the new beginning-reader series Elephant & Piggie Like Reading. Of course The Cookie Fiasco made me crave cookies, and we all know cookies and milk must go together, so I give you this:
Yes, that is a giant gluten-free chocolate chip cookie milkshake. Perfect for enjoying while you read.
Are your kids back to school yet? Mine started back during the week. Their last year of elementary school. Cue tears.
I'm sharing these fun apple donut back-to-school treats that would be a great addition for classroom parties throughout the school year over at MyPrintly.
