We have a lot of puppets in our house, both handmade and store bought. The kids also love to role play. So for a while now I've been wanting to set up an area for them where they can put on puppet shows, play school, and do other role playing activities.
I found a fantastic cabinet a couple of weeks ago at a local thrift store. I just had to have it, but at the time couldn't think of where to put it and thus couldn't justify purchasing it. And then it came to me a couple of days ago that it was the perfect height for a puppet theater, and the large open space inside was perfect for putting the kids cardboard puppet theaters and other handmade role playing items in, so I raced back to the store and thankfully it was still there. Plus, it was a steal at $19.99 and although there are a few chips in it, it's in quite good condition, and I love that the back is wood, not the flimsy board that is nailed onto the back of cheaper furniture.
