A couple of years ago we attended a birthday party for a little friend at Build-a-Bear, I know I shared just a little about that day because I was honored with the task of making the birthday girl a bear cake, which we shared in the food court at the mall.
During the party each of the kids chose their own new special friend to stuff, give a heart to, and bring home. Flynn, of course, chose a dog, which he named Sparky after our own Jack Russell, Sparky. He even got a little dog kennel and water bowl to go with it.
Marisol must have been eyeing that dog kennel for some time now because out of the blue recently she asked me for a cardboard box ... which is nothing new for her, the moment she spots an empty box she immediately whips out paint, tape, and scissors and starts crafting, but this time she wanted to make her own dog kennel for her stuffed toy dogs.
This was her own idea, her own design and was handmade by her. The only thing I was allowed to do was cut the opening for the door and angled cuts for the roof using an X-ACTO knife (as per her instructions of course).
