Once upon a time there was a mother. She was beautiful, rich and smart. Everyone wanted to be just like her. She lived like a princess who had married her knight in shining armor and they had 3 perfect children.
She dined on the most expensive seafood and sipped only the finest champagne. Her days were spent being pampered at the salon, shopping at designer stores, lunching with her girlfriends and playing with her beautiful well-mannered children.
Her chauffeur drove her home along the tree lined streets in the evenings to her vanilla and jasmine scented mansion where her staff were just leaving after a day of cleaning and baking for her. She would dream of her charmed life as she slept peacefully under her satin sheets until the faint whispers and kisses from her 3 gorgeous children awoke her.
One day, this absolutely stunning mother of 3 delightful children met a girlfriend by the pool for a little relaxation, some girlie chit chat and to work on their glorious tans. They were such beautiful creatures that everyone stopped and stared.
Once upon a time there was a mother. She lived like a back-breaking slave, married to a husband who was never home and had 3 demanding children. She dined on macaroni & cheese and guzzled the most caffeinated of beverages.
Her days were spent peeing, cleaning and cooking with kids attached to each limb, she bribed her teenage son to watch the babies so she could shower and she wiped poopy bottoms. She shopped at Marshalls and Target, ran errands and scoffed leftovers during nap time.
She made it home in the evenings to a house that had been hit by twin cyclones, the smell of dirty diapers that had accidentally been left out of the trash to bake in the heat and pee and strawberry stained carpets. She would collapse into bed in the wee hours of the morning wandering what that smell was coming from her crumpled up pile of sheets and blankets and waking every couple of hours to tend to a child who screamed in such high decibels that she thought the windows may shatter.
One day, this mother of 3 children met a girlfriend at a swimming pool for an afternoon of rescuing toddlers from drowning and ensuring older children didn't drown each other. Little did she know that her girlfriend would look so amazingly gorgeous in a bathing suit that she would have to endure wearing a tunic for the day to cover her ever expanding girth.
