My dad is an extremely talented woodcarver. Here is just a tiny sample of his work. He supplies galleries and takes on custom jobs (bed heads, sculptures for parks etc). We have a number of frames and candlesticks in our house (not pictured here) that he made.
Here are a couple of projects we worked on together quite a few years ago. The first is a totem pole located at the beginning of a nature walk in Blind Bight (Victoria, Australia). After taking this photograph I moved to the U.S. and haven't been back to take another since the plaques were put on it. There are carvings on all 4 sides which I painted. I wonder if it is still there.
The second is a sculpture dad carved and I painted for a sculpture garden/contest at a winery. It now sits in mum and dads yard.
My mum is the cross-stitcher, embroiderer, sewer and knitter of the family. Hence my love for all of those things too.
This is a beautiful piece that we have hanging on our wall that she made after the twins were born.
She is the artist of the family. Although, she hasn't painted in a couple of years I think. She'll be turning 90 in October.
These were painted by her and are proudly hanging in my house.
