How To Make Easy Ladybug Cupcakes

These easy ladybug cupcakes in silicone pots are perfect for a garden party, baby shower, or a special treat for kids learning about bugs.

Ladybug cupcakes

What you need

  • Silicone cupcake ‘pots’
  • Chocolate cupcake mix – check the box for ingredients for baking
  • Icing (pre-made tubes you can put icing tips on work just fine) – red, green, and black
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Chocolate sprinkles

Instructions for making ladybug cupcakes

Bake your favorite chocolate cupcakes inside the silicone plant pots. Set them aside to cool.

Spread chocolate frosting over the top and then dip them into chocolate sprinkles.

Now comes the fun part.

Follow the method leaf icing tutorial on the Wilton site to make the green leaves. You’ll need a fine round piping tip to make the stem on the leaves too.

To make the ladybug, you will need a large round piping tip, and then the fine piping tip you used for the stem on the leaves to create the details on the ladybug.
