Remember recently when I posted a photo of my new Guess jeans?
I think my boyfriend still thinks I'm a little crazy for going out of my way to purchase jeans with holes in them, especially when he sees me spending time mending holes in the little man's jeans.
But, the worn look has grown on me and I just can't seem to part with it just yet.

So I absolutely LOVED these new jeans, BUT, when I sat down the hole at the top of my thigh would gape a little more than I liked, and I was a little worried that it would tear more and leave an even bigger hole. So I rifled through my fabric stash and found a lovely off-cut of vintage lace that I had brought home with me from Australia a few years ago. My mum had been cleaning out a lot of her fabrics and yarn and I couldn't stand seeing it being donated, so I borrowed a suitcase and brought most of it home with me. I knew it would come in handy some day.
So I planned on wearing these jeans last week during a day tour of Temecula - San Diego's wine country (which you will be hearing much more about tomorrow), and made this quick fashion fix 15 minutes before leaving the house.
Simply turn the jeans inside out and cut a patch of lace large enough to fit over the hole you want to patch.
Using thread that's as close to the jeans color as you can get, hand-stitch the lace on to the jeans.
And no more hole stretching or gaping.
And I just love these jeans with my new REPORT Greenlyn sandals from Famous Footwear. This is the perfect outfit to wear for running errands and dropping the kids off at school.
