We have been having a lot of playdates at our house over the summer.  It’s so nice being back in San Diego near our friends again.  I felt like I’d lost my groove in Monterey.  Despite loving living there, and making lovely new friends, I found that we didn’t entertain as much as we used to, probably because we just didn’t have a house I felt that I wanted to entertain in.  But, we love to grill, we love to entertain, the kids love our pool and backyard toys, and, we are really enjoying hanging out with our friends once more.

The boys grilling:

Putting safety first before going in the pool (although my husband may have gone just a little crazy with the sunscreen).  We insist on the little ones wearing flotation vests in the pool too, just to be safe.

Having fun with our friends:

Nerf battles are very serious business with all the kids … and the adults too.

And of course a playdate isn’t complete without food.
