The San Diego Quilt Show is being held at the San Diego Convention Center from September 5-7, 2013.

I was recently invited to a craft night at Sew Hut where we were taught a couple of quilt related projects, and had the pleasure of meeting Pam Kay, president of the San Diego Quilt Show. I have been dying to learn how to quilt. I would love to make a quilted bed cover for each of the kids bedrooms, and maybe a quilted bag for myself.

Here are the projects we made:

Yo Yo Headband

These were quite fun to make. Although I think I could get addicted very quickly, and really want to attempt this:

It's a Yo Yo Bed Cover. It would be impossible to clean, but it looks so pretty.

It's perfect for a guest bed. Now I just need an extra bedroom, and a guest bed.

Quilted Basket

Our second project for the evening was a quilted basket. This is where I really had an opportunity to learn the basics of quilting.

Miss M has already snatched up my basket and put it on her little table next to her kitchen to pop bread rolls in for tea parties.

All of the ladies did a great job, just look at all of our pretty baskets.

The San Diego Quilt Show are offering classes (that start as early as the 4th of September), so make sure you reserve your space and don't forget to purchase tickets for the show too. I hope to see you there.

Sew Hut offers classes for both kids and adults too.

Both the San Diego Quilt Show and Sew Hut are on Facebook and Twitter so please follow them:

Disclosure: I was provided with this free crafting class along with tickets to the San Diego Quilt Show.

I love those baskets! I’ve always wanted to learn how to quilt, but didn’t know where to go to learn. I’m a very hands on learner, so this would be perfect! Thanks for sharing 🙂
