I'm just over here dreaming about spring. The poppies are already starting to bloom alongside the freeway, and I hear this year (thanks to all the rain) we are expecting a super bloom of wildflowers in the desert areas. I cannot wait. I just hope it holds out long enough for my parents to get here from Australia so we can take them out to the state park and the poppy fields.
This also means that I'm thinking ahead to planting too. I'm not sure if it was a case of over-watering, under-watering, the cold, or what happened, but most of my herbs died off over the winter and so I'm desperate to get my pots started again. I absolutely loved being able to pop outside and clip a little thyme or rosemary to add into recipes. Which of course made me think that if I'm feeling this way, then others might be too, so it inspired me to create these herb planter gifts (and handmade plant markers) that are the perfect gift for any occasion from housewarming, to a hostess gift, Mother's Day, and more.
Head on over to Lady and the Blog for all the details on how to make these. I especially love the handmade garden markers, which you can see in the large pot in the background of this photo.

If you follow my Instagram feed, you would know that we are big golf enthusiasts here. It's become Flynn's extra-curricular activity of choice and he absolutely loves taking golf lessons and hitting balls at the driving range. Earlier this year his older brother even passed his golf bag and clubs down to him.
If you have an avid golfer in your family and are looking for the perfect holiday, Father's Day, or birthday gift, then you should absolutely look into U.S. Open tickets. We prefer to give the gift of experiences in our house, and this would be an amazing experience for the golfer who already has everything they need to play the game.
Here's the lowdown:
The 2019 U.S. Open will take place at Pebble Beach Golf Links, which is a part of a resort community on the Monterey Peninsula in California; it’s a must-see location for every golf and travel enthusiast.
Mike has been very hands-on with the kids since we started dating. We often joke about how similar our parenting style is. We both strive to get the kids outdoors as much as possible, and teach them life skills along the way.
I thought it would be nice to make a memory book to thank him for all he's done with the kids, and how much they appreciate him. We are going to build on it throughout the year and give it to him as a surprise ... fingers crossed he doesn't read this post, and if he does he'll just have to pretend to be surprised.
You can find all the details on how to make these fun memory books over at MyPrintly. They make the perfect gift for someone special in your life.

Im sharing the tutorial at Lady and the Blog today.
Keeping up with the latest trends can be an expensive exercise, but it doesn't have to be.
My daughter is currently obsessed with pillows. She even asked for more pillows for Christmas, for not only her bed but also the bench in her walk-in closet.
When I came across some plain pillows just waiting to be decorated at Michael's I couldn't resist picking up a couple (with a coupon of course). So today I'm over at Divine Lifestyle showing you how easy it is to turn any plain pillow into a word pillow.
Head on over, grab the tutorial, and you'll have fun new pillows in just a few minutes. They also make great handmade gifts.
