Going on a tip from a wonderful neighbor who had been to this spot a couple of days earlier I packed up the kids this afternoon and headed to Marian R Bear Memorial Park for a short hike.

We packed up the butterfly nets, the dog, water and popped on our comfy shoes.  It was a lovely day and not too hot thankfully.  The walk along the main path on the west side of Regents Road was lovely.   Lots of squirrels, lizards and spiders to be seen, pretty wildflowers for Marisol to smell, rocks for Flynn to collect and trees for Jay to climb.  There was even a little creek running through that the kids loved … not that I would let them in it, but walking on rocks over it and throwing rocks in to see the splashes kept them amused for quite some time.
