These fun paper basketball treat bags are quick and easy to whip up and just think how many you can fill with the big 54oz bag of Skittles from Sam’s Club.

What you need:

  • Orange scrapbook paper with a black marker
  • Wax paper (optional)
  • 54oz bag of Skittles
  • Sewing machine
  • Scissors

If you are making your basketballs from scratch, cut out an orange circle and make the basketball markings using a Sharpie. Alternatively, you can use a site like PicMonkey to print basketballs onto paper.

Next, cut out a plain white piece to match along with two pieces of wax paper. I prefer to put the candy between wax paper rather than just between the printed paper, don’t ask me why, it’s just a thing, but feel free if you aren’t as fussy as me to leave out this added step.

Gather up all of your pieces in a pile and using your sewing machine, sew around the edges leaving the opening at the top for putting your favorite candy inside.

The reason I sew these instead of gluing them is:

  1. gluing can get messy and takes a while to dry
  2. I don’t want to risk getting glue on the candy

Whip up a bunch of these for the next tourney and get more great ideas at skittlestourney.com. It’s only madness if you don’t have Skittles.
