I surely cannot be the only person who craves gourmet pizzas, although sometimes I feel like I am, especially in my household where pepperoni and cheese are the most sought after toppings. However I wasn't raised like that. In Australia I don't think I had ever seen a pepperoni pizza.
Through and through I'm a toppings girl, and the more the merrier. Oh, and I don't like pizza sauce either, I only use pesto (either traditional or sun-dried tomato) as my base.
Here are a few of my favorite home-made pizzas.

- Shredded Mozzarella
- Turkey Meatballs
- Zucchini
- Asian Pear
- Spinach
- Mushrooms

Pizza's are a great casual party idea. You supply the bases and assorted toppings and let everybody make their own.
Our kids love homemade pizza night. We try to have one every other week. They love putting their own cheese and pizza sauce on. Occasionally they go crazy and add a little pineapple too.
