Do you have a lot of leftover Halloween candy, or did your kids collect more than you would like them to eat? Then grab these ideas.

Between buying more candy than we have trick or treaters, and the kids coming home with bags full of candy we always end up with too much. I’m always the one dipping my hand in the candy stash too, so I needed to find ways to use it or give it away.

Here are a few ideas to help you too.

Donate Halloween candy

There are a number of places you can donate candy to, and there are also candy buy-back programs as well.

  • Donate leftover Halloween candy to military organizations. We’ve previously donated to Operation: Care and Comfort. There is also Treats for Troops that is run by Soldier’s Angels, and Operation Gratitude.
  • Check with your local dentist office. Some have buy-back programs in place to buy back your kids Halloween candy.

Decorate cookies with candy

These gluten-free turkey cookies are simply adorable and so much fun for the kids to make. Plus, we used leftover Halloween candy to decorate them.

Fall treat jars

Fill decorated canning jars with leftover candy and put them on the Thanksgiving table for kids, or hand them out to friends. We have two different versions of our scarecrow treat jars. Plus, we also made turkey treat jars over at Lady and the Blog.

What a great idea to donate to the soldiers!

Would you believe I didn’t know until this year that Dentists buy candy! I saw the ad in the Aegis and was impressed! LOL

Thanks for sharing! 🙂
