Spring has sprung, and this simple decorating idea will have your home looking and smelling like spring in just a few minutes.
Citrus floral arrangement
Supplies
- Vase
- Mandarin oranges
- Pretty spring blooms such as daffodils
- Scissors
- Ribbon
Instructions
Cut the stems of your flowers so that the heads of the flowers will sit nicely right over the top of the vase.
There are two ways you can do this:
- Place a narrower (or smaller) vase inside the larger one and fill it with water. Place the fruit between the two vases, and then arrange the flowers inside the smaller vase, making sure they spill over the top of the fruit so that it appears they are arranged in the middle of the fruit and hiding the center vase.
- This is the way I did this one because I used a smaller vase and was using uncut fruit, which is a little wider. Put enough water in your vase to fill about 1/3 of it. Once you’ve cut the stems of your flowers, arrange them into a bouquet in your hands. Hold the bouquet firmly in one hand inside the vase, and then with the other, pop the mandarins around the stems; this will hold them in place. Let go of the flowers and let them spill over the top of the vase.
And there you have some pretty spring blooms to brighten up your home.
