a day at the cove

,

I’m a little behind on posts.  It’s been a busy week.  So I’m going to take you back to Tuesday.  The kids were driving me a little crazy so I whipped up a picnic lunch and took them to La Jolla cove for a little ‘homeschool field trip’ and lunch break.

La Jolla Cove is a beautiful spot.  Lots of birds, seals and sea life to explore.  Also very popular for snorkeling, scuba diving and kayaking.

The kids absolutely loved looking for all the tiny crabs moving about between the rocks and Jay loves heading out on the rocks as far as he can to see the seals out sunbathing.  There were a lot of people out snorkeling the day we went and lots of kayakers for Flynn to look at through his binoculars.

  2. What fun! Great photos too, that one of the seal on the rock is amazing! I’m still amazed that your kids are so well behaved at the beach. That is awesome!

  3. Jaime: You should totally come back … but maybe over the summer and to northern california. Just sayin’ :)Brooke: The seal is very real. Jay actually took that shot. In the 2nd shot where he’s all the way out on the rocks, the seal was fairly close to him so he came back and got the camera
