A while ago I showed you my new Sauder sewing cart. If you entertain at home, it’s important to have a piece of furniture that’s versatile and that you can use for a number of different things. My sewing cart is just that piece.
The fact that it’s on wheels is a huge bonus, because moving it from room to room, or even wheeling it outside as a party food cart works amazingly well.
Note: If the above image looks familiar, it’s because this party table is from the yellow party post for CorningWare.
If you are on Pinterest, you’ve probably seen many photos from other lifestyle bloggers who take pieces of furniture outdoors for family photographs and parties. Everything from chests of drawers, to armoires and tables are being pulled outside, which really is the perfect way to use your existing pieces without spending a lot of money on renting or purchasing new items.
Look at how versatile my sewing cart is:
And yes, I’m giving you a sneak peek at the new craft room here too. It still needs a lot of work, but it’s coming along nicely.
I also love that if the kids are using the craft room and I want a little quiet time to sew (and maybe watch a movie), I can wheel my cart into a different room.
I leave the arm of the sewing cart folded down when I have it in the craft room to save space until I need to use it, but when entertaining, I can open it up and use the handy storage pockets and shelving inside the doors for items such as utensils, tea, napkins, straws and more. This really is my favorite part of the sewing cart.
When the cart is in my sewing room (and once I’ve finished moving all of my craft supplies from our old house), it will be filled with scissors, velcro, ribbons, and other sewing supplies so that everything I need is within arms reach.
Do you have a favorite piece of furniture that you use for different things?
