We don’t have a fire-pit at our new home, and our indoor fireplace is enclosed in glass, but we love s’mores. So, I came up with a creative solution, which we can take with us to the beach, camping, or into the backyard.

You don’t need a campfire to make s’mores and we think this setup is perfect if you don’t have a big yard or a firepit. You could set up a number of these on round bar tables, or at the beach. The possibilities are endless, and I think weddings would be perfect for this.

Ingredients For A S’mores Bar

First of all, the ingredients you need for your s’mores bar are simple – Hershey’s chocolate, Honey Maid Graham Crackers, and Kraft’s Jet-Puffed Marshmallows.

Everything you need is available at Walmart so it couldn’t be easier, and a three-tiered stand (which I already had) is perfect for displaying the variety of options available for your guests to make their s’mores.

We used three varieties of Hershey’s chocolate bars – traditional milk chocolate, cookies ‘n’ creme, and special dark chocolate.

For the Graham Crackers we used two varieties – the traditional Honey Maid Graham Crackers, and the Chocolate Graham Crackers (which needed to be cut in half). Did you know you can buy gluten-free crackers at Walmart too?

We needed a way to cook the marshmallows, so we put together a portable camp stove inside a candle holder. This makes our cooking station portable, and you can use different holders (or a can of spray paint) to customize one for any event – you could even use a clear one and fill around the tank with rocks or sand.

How To Use A Portable Camp Stove For S’mores

  • A single camp stove
  • A small propane tank
  • Large hurricane candle holder – just make sure the propane tank fits inside.
  • Lighter

Note: You can find all of these items at Walmart – the stove was under $20, the propane tank under $3 and the hurricane candle holder under $15.

Place the propane tank inside the hurricane candle holder, attach the single campfire stove, and you are ready to go. It’s that easy. All you need now is a long lighter to light your camp stove.

I used small decorative vases to put the metal skewers for roasting marshmallows. You could even add a few of these – for clean skewers, used skewers, and for different sizes for adults and children.

Don’t forget napkins and small plates. Oh, and for those who may want something a little extra on their s’mores, how about some Hershey’s caramel or chocolate syrup?

The only thing left to do is start toasting marshmallows.

This might just be the cutest darn thing I’ve ever seen! Why I’ve not thought of a s’mores bar simply blows my mind! I would love to have done something this brilliant with my girl scouts when I was helping out a troop. Must pin this to keep for a future event.
