As you know, Minecraft is big around here. The kids play it all the time. Remember their birthday lunch and the earrings I made Miss M? So, when the new Gameband Minecraft™ came out, guess what we got?
I’m going to share a little about the Gameband, and then show you how to make this Minecraft Christmas Stocking, which is the perfect way to gift it this holiday season.
About Gameband Minecraft
With Gameband Minecraft™, the kids can save their worlds by plugging it into the computer (via the USB drive) back up their worlds and then take the game anywhere they want and use it on any computer. So if they are visiting their dad, they can take their Gameband with them, play at his house, save their worlds and bring it home with them without losing anything. They can also create their own animations and text using the PixelFurnace app to change the LED display. The Gameband comes preloaded with maps from Sethbling, Hypixel, and Dragonz. And, as an added bonus, it’s splashproof, because kids, plus gaming, and drinks sitting next to them is never a good mix.
There are the basic animations that appear on the LED display including the date and time.
The Gameband for Minecraft is only compatible with the computer, so if you already had Minecraft installed and worlds created, when you plug in the Gameband it will back up those worlds for you.
If you are looking for a creative way to give it to one of your kids, make them a Minecraft Christmas stocking. This craft takes about 30 minutes, it’s super quick and easy and requires very few materials.
Make a Minecraft Christmas Stocking
What you need
- Fleece – in green and black
- A strip of white fleece, fur, or other fuzzy material
- White ribbon
- Scissors
- Needle and thread
- Sewing machine
Instructions
Double the green fleece over and either freehand or lay another Christmas stocking over the top and cut out the shape of the stocking.
Double the black fleece over and cut out the pieces to make the creeper face.
Sew the creeper face into place, and then sew the seam for just one side of the stocking.
Pin the strip of fur or white felt into place with the right side attached to the wrong side of the stocking and allowing an overlap of about 1/2 an inch. I know this sounds odd, but trust me, just go with it.
Sew the pieces together, and then turn it over to sew a seam on just that section too (on the wrong side).
Turn the stocking back the other way and sew the rest of the stocking seam. Turn it right way out and fold the fur over the top.
Hand sew a small ribbon onto the inside of the top for hanging.
There you have it, a Minecraft Christmas stocking, perfect for gifting your Gameband.
Gameband Minecraft™ is available at GameStop for $79.99 and is available in two sizes, small and large. We purchased the large, because it will grow with him.

That stocking is so cool! I am not a sewer, so this is beyond me, but I would LOVE to get one of these for my kids. They would be over the moon. And if I paired it with a Gameband…
