Every night since moving into our new house we’ve lit the fire, curled up on the sofa and relaxed. Our last house was so big that everyone seemed to be in separate rooms all the time and we would have to make plans to be together. In our new home though I’ve deliberately placed the X-Box and main television in the family room by the kitchen so that the kids are near me and we can spend more time together.

The kids seem to be really loving this, although I did fear that they would fight and want their own personal space back. They even talk to me while I prepare dinner or am working in the kitchen. Parenting win!

For years I’ve been making the same hot chocolate recipe, which is primarily chocolate with half and half on the stove, topped with cream. I love to adapt it from time to time though to mix things up and try a new flavor.

This week I made a White Chocolate Sugar Cookie Hot Chocolate. It’s sweet, hot, and delicious. Perfect for curling up in front of the fire this holiday season.

Ingredients

• 2 tbs White Chocolate pieces (1 per cup heaped)
• 1/2 cup International Delight Frosted Sugar Cookie
• 2 cups Half & Half
• Heavy Whipping Cream (whipped)
• raw sugar

Instructions

1. Add the white chocolate, International Delight, and half & half to a medium saucepan. Bring to the boil stirring continuously so that a skin doesn't form on top. 
2. Pour into a mug, top with whipped cream, and then sprinkle a little raw sugar on top.
