It’s no secret that my favorite meal of the day is brunch. At brunch almost anything goes, with a combination of breakfast and lunch and cocktails. Plus, if you are like me, you feel like you aren’t inhaling quite as many calories that day because it’s only one meal right, not two.
Mimosa’s and Bloody Mary’s have been a staple brunch item for years, but to mix it up a little, and because I had grapefruit in my fruit bowl, I decided to try something new.
Prosecco citrus cocktails
I made two versions of this Prosecco cocktail, lemon, and Sweet Scarlett’s red grapefruit. I knew I would love the lemon one because lemon cocktails are generally my favorite, but it turns out I actually loved the grapefruit even more.
Ingredients
- 2oz Voveti Prosecco
- 1 oz Gin
- 1 oz Simple Syrup
- 1 oz fresh lemon or grapefruit juice
Instructions
- Add the simple syrup and fresh citrus juice in a glass, mix it just a little, top with the Gin, and then with the prosecco.
- Add a swirl of rind and top with fresh edible flowers to give your cocktail a fresh spring feel.
Notes
If you are using a larger than standard champagne glass then double up on the ingredients.
These lemons and grapefruit look so fresh and full of juice. I couldn’t resist but make a cocktail with them.
VOVETI is the chic, modern Italian prosecco that embodies affordable luxury and classic style. It is upscale and affordable, perfect for everyday pairing or chic entertaining with friends.
