Whether you want to decorate a daisy cake or daisy cupcakes, we have the prettiest idea for a tea party, birthday, or baby shower.
I took cake decorating classes with Wilton a little while ago, so now M is asking me to decorate all kinds of pretty cakes and cupcakes for her.
How to decorate a daisy cake
Here are the basic instructions for the fondant daisies on the Wilton website.Â
I made a basic lemon cake, spread vanilla frosting, and then put tiny fondant daisies all over it.
Tip: When adding the fondant daisies, start from the top center of the cake and work you way out and then down the sides. Add a strip of yellow fondant before putting more daisies around the bottom and spilling out over the cake stand.
How to decorate daisy cupcakes
The mini cupcakes were baked using PimTechamuanvivit’s recipe for Decadent Chocolate Cake in The Foodie Handbook, which you may remember I received a copy of at The Martha Stewart Blog Show. Â
Make these fondant daisies using the same recipe as for the cake. The only difference is I rolled the yellow center in yellow sugar crystals. You can use chocolate or vanilla frosting to attach the daisies to the cupcakes.
Tip:Â the mini cupcakes need to be baked for 9 minutes.
