This DIY bee photo booth frame is made using an Elmer’s Tri-Fold Board. This bee craft is perfect for summer fun and kids parties.

The twins 4th birthday is only a month away. We’ve decided on a teddy bear picnic birthday party this year so I have lots of fun things to put together that I’ll be sharing with you as they are made.

This is the bee photo booth frame I’ve made for the party.

I was inspired by the Halloween photo booth frame I made a couple of years ago. After I made the bee photo booth frame I had Jay help me make a bear photo booth frame too with a teddy bear sitting on a picnic blanket.

Supplies

  • Elmer’s large tri-fold foam display board
  • Elmer’s foam display board
  • X-Acto knife
  • Elmer’s glue spots
  • Cardboard (I used an old box)
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paintbrushes

Instructions

Sketch your summer bee scene onto the large cardboard tri-fold display board and then paint it using acrylic paint.

Using the X-ACTO knife cut out the bee face so that it’s large enough for a child’s face to fit through the hole.

Sketch the bee wings and any other items (such as the flower) onto cardboard. Paint those and then attach them to the frame using Elmer’s glue spots.

Cut semi-circles out of Elmer’s foam display board (it’s thicker and sturdier than the cardboard one). Paint the semi-circles to match the base of the photo booth frame. Once dry, use the X-ACTO knife and cut slits into the top of each semi-circle and put it onto the base of the frame. This helps keep the photo frame sturdy so it doesn’t get knocked over when the kids are taking photos behind it.
