I have quite a thing for soup. Especially when it's rainy and cold outside.
I've also developed quite a thing for Williams Sonoma of late too. I've been going to their free Sunday Technique Classes with friends as often as I can to learn a few new techniques and shhh (don't tell hubby), shop for lots of new gadgets too. Did I mention that these classes are FREE, and here's a tip, don't eat before you go, because you get to try the dishes they cook and they are always delicious. Oh and after attending the class, you get 10% off (including sale items) in-store.
While I was at a technique class last weekend I picked up a recipe card for Spiced Carrot Soup. It sounded delicious, so I made it during the week for dinner and paired it with warm sourdough rolls.
It was delicious!
I don't have the fancy Cuisinart Soup Maker and Blender that is suggested for use when making this recipe, but my giant pot on the stove and my regular blender did just fine.
If you do have a Williams Sonoma nearby, I highly recommend their technique classes, it's a great way to learn a few tips, taste and then take home some fabulous recipes and it makes for a great morning out with girlfriends.
