IMG00262This afternoon I had a babysitter look after the twins and I spent some much needed one on one time with Jay.  He'd always wanted to see the wrestling live so when I heard it was going to be in town Ran and I immediately purchased tickets as an early birthday present for him.  He's an avid wrestling fan, sitting up late every Friday night to watch it.

IMG00264They had a casket match and a steel cage match.  His favorite wrestler Jeff Hardy was there and he got to see the sexy wrestling babes.  He was in wrestling heaven.

They wouldn't let me take my good camera past security so thankfully I had my crackberry to snap a couple of shots for him.

IMG00237I was quite fascinated by this testosterone filled event.  Men wearing far too much spandex (especially those who should NEVER be seen in it) with way too many sparkles on their hiney's trying to pin each other on the ground.  Fireworks, coffins, cages and light shows.  Families in the crowd instead of teenage twits thinking they can beat the crap out of anyone in the arena.

IMG00283Apparently I need to brush up on my chanting.  I did learn to scream 'What' whenever the rather large Russian wrestler spoke and stamp my feet as loud as I could though … good exercise.

I chalk it up to an experience.  I can at least say I've been there and done that and it was great spending a night with Jay.

* It was also a great way to celebrate Jay's reading test at school today.  He tested at a 10th grade level (he's in 7th grade).  I'm so proud of him.

Great Jay! A good reader becomes a good learner and stays a reader for life. You are making your mom proud. As to the wrestling I hate it! But I guess I would also do it with my boys if it was a big deal for them. And yes, I do believe in trying everything (apart from drugs) once.

We try to have a date with the girls each month – my husband will do something with one, I’ll take the other and the next month we switch. It’s always great to get some one on one time. But wrestling? I am glad mine are a little girly 🙂 But wait. They love to watch American Gladiators…crud. This could be in my future as well…
