My fabulous bargain of the week was photo boxes from Michaels for $1.99 each. I thought these would be perfect as storage for Marisol's bedroom. They come in a variety of patterns for boys, girls and in neutral colours.

So here is what I did with them:

First step was to find something to use as dividers. I found a packet of framing mats that I'd been dragging around with me for years and thought they would be perfect – sturdy, thin and easy to cut. Next step was to figure out what would go in each box and what size space I would need for these items. Then I measured the the inside of the box for the dividers, cut them to size and then cut slots in the center of each so the pieces would fit together. I inserted the dividers into the boxes with a small amount of glue on the underside so the dividers wouldn't move around inside the boxes. Once it was all dry, I went to town putting all of Marisol's pretty things into the little sections. Then I made labels for each box on the computer using a font called Curlz MT (which is a total girlie font) and put them into the shelving unit inside her wardrobe.
