I love decorating our mantel for different occasions, so of course bringing in a few brighter colors, and a couple of birds here and there seemed necessary to welcome Spring soon. I just love this space, it makes me smile.
Wall hanging: DIY – square canvas covered in fabric
Colored glass vases: thrift store finds
Gold frame: Target (on clearance)
Wood candle holders: Handmade by my dad
White tray: $5 thrift store find, filled with an assortment of knickknacks including corks from my favorite wine, stars from our Christmas tree, and other decorative items.
Bird: Michael's (on clearance)
Clock: Target (on clearance)
Small hanging ornament: My mum sent me this embroidered fabric dove ornament as a gift a few years ago. It was too pretty to use only at Christmastime
Plant: This fake plant in a terracotta pot is something that I've been carrying around for years, through several house moves, for the past year or two it had been in our garage gathering dust.
I also recently hung a new addition to my wall collage, which is on the adjacent wall to the mantel.
I found this adorable house cross stitch in the $1 section at Michael's and couldn't wait to get to work on it. The black frame that came with it was a little color heavy for the wall so a quick coat of paint took care of that.

Been trying to come up with an idea for something more colorful above our couch. Love the fabric covered canvas idea! So pretty, Tonya!
