Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Orlando
Last summer, I took the kids to Universal Studios Orlando as part of the Family Forward conference (which is currently happening at this very moment again this year as I type this post). You may remember my post about why you should stay at the Universal Orlando Resort, or more specifically, stay at Loews Royal Pacific Resort.
This summer I took the kids to Universal Studios Hollywood.
Granted we were at Universal Orlando for 6 days and at Universal Hollywood for just 1 day, and with two theme parks to choose from, Universal Orlando will always have my heart, but Universal Hollywood has a lot to offer, especially if you are a tourist staying in the area or are local (like we are).

Undercover Tourist Tips for Visiting Universal Studios Hollywood
I recently got to play Undercover Tourist with the kids at Universal Studios Hollywood.
It had been many years since I'd visited this theme park, way before the little ones were born, and I have vague memories of Jay being little and I think my parents may even have been visiting from Australia at the time.
So, when a recent opportunity to visit the park for Undercover Tourist presented itself, I jumped at the chance to take the little ones.
In June, Undercover Tourist began selling discounted tickets online for Southern California theme parks so I'm going to share with you the price comparisons so you can save money on your next family theme park adventure.
As I mentioned, the kids and I went to Universal Studios Hollywood, so I'm going to share the price comparison for that particular park, but if you go to the Undercover Tourist website you will be able to find discounted tickets for other Southern California theme parks too.
Your Summer Guide for Entertaining the Kids in San Diego
Okay lovely readers, I've been compiling, and compiling, AND COMPILING lists of things for you to do this summer with the kids. A lot of it's free, some of it isn't, a little is educational, and all of it is fun.
And also you get to see a glimpse of what we've been up to lately, because sometimes I forget to share. I get a little caught up in the tutorials and recipes so it's nice to share other things we've been doing too.
Let's get down to it shall we.
Knott's Berry Farm
A little while ago the kids and I were invited to Knott's Berry Farm to stay at the hotel and attend the opening of Knott's Soak City. It was amazing, and fun, and we had the best weekend. The highlight for the kids was Snoopy coming into our hotel room in pajamas and tucking them into bed. Okay, so Soak City was pretty awesome too, and the kids were exhausted by the time we left there ... and maybe I enjoyed floating down the lazy river just a little too much.
SO WHAT'S NEW THIS SUMMER? If you didn't know, Camp Snoopy has been revamped with THREE NEW RIDES - Charlie Brown’s Kite Flyer, Pig Pen’s Mud Buggies and Linus Launcher. The classic Calico Mine Co Ride has undergone a renovation too that includes dozens of new richly-detailed animatronic figures, state-of-the art lighting, audio, and all-new special effects.
