Chocolate Yep, you heard me.  I went to a chocolate festival *insert me doing the happy chocolate dance*.

There actually wasn't nearly as much chocolate there as a chocoholic would have liked to see but there was just enough to keep me satisfied.  The event was actually more like a street fair with rides, loads of vendors and lots of food with one little section cornered off for my one true love my kids, my husband, CHOCOLATE … just kidding … or am I.

It's even held annually.  How did I not know this, I mean seriously I eat more chocolate than anybody I know, where the heck was I for the past couple of years.

I devoured a mint mocha chip frappucino from Starbucks and chocolate coated cheesecake on a stick from Yo Lily Cheesecake – OMG to die for, seriously!  Jay did the non chocolate thing and had a rainbow Italian ice and the rest of the clan just trailed along behind me as I browsed and ate and browsed and ate.  We stopped to watch a band so Marisol could wiggle for a bit and then raced out of the festival after Marisol spotted an obstacle course bounce house.  She desperately wanted to go in there but didn't meet the height requirements, thus a major meltdown ensued.

It was after 3pm by the time we left the festival and nobody had eaten lunch so we made a stop at the California Pizza Kitchen (my favorite pizza place) for a very late one. The kids were on their best behavior, although Marisol was getting rather loud screaming out 'STAR' every time Jay drew a star on her coloring book :).

You won't believe it though, me, the girl with 2 cameras and a video camera forgot to take any of them with me today.  Yep, you heard it here first, I forgot my cameras.  Has this ever happened before?  Thankfully I had Jay give me a super quick lesson on how to use my Blackberry's camera feature … yep it's a very sad day when a 12 year old has to give you a lesson on how to use your own phone but the pictures actually came out pretty good I think.

3. Look how carefully Flynn draws – he no longer does random scribble, he colors in lines as best he can and over the top of things like letters and numbers.

4.  He had a great time getting his crayons in and out of his table mat.  Those things are great if you remember my post a while back when I purchased them.

Sonya: I Subscribe to SD Family mag and I’ve signed up for email updates from Sign On San Diego events and check all the major places each week to see what’s going on. Also my latest addiction is the website Roadside America. It’s fabulous.
