Rainbow sprinkles are a must-have for any celebration. They are bright, colorful, and can be used for so many delicious party treats.
Disclosure: I partnered with Reddi-wip to create this fun party table. #PartyReddi
Kids parties can be overwhelming (and expensive), but there are simple ways to cut a few corners while saving yourself time and money.
I’m starting the preparation for Marisol and Flynn’s 8th birthday in a couple of weeks. These simple food ideas using my daughter’s favorite ‘rainbow sprinkles’ are sure to make any kid happy.
This party table requires very little effort, with no baking involved, or slaving away for hours in the kitchen. The treats are simple and delicious and you only need a few items and an hour or so of your time to set it all up.
Ice-cream floats
What you need
- Raspberry soda – I used Raspberry Fanta
- Vanilla ice-cream – softened a little
- Reddi-wip
- Rainbow sprinkles
Normally you would pop ice cream into the glass first, then top with soda, however I wanted more contrast in color for these drinks, so I poured the soda into the glass until about 3/4 full, carefully added one scoop of vanilla ice-cream, topped it with Reddi-wip and then with rainbow sprinkles.
Birthday angel food cake
You don’t need to have an elaborately decorated cake, which can be quite costly.
What you need
- Angel Food Cake – available at Walmart
- Reddi-wip
- Strawberries
- Rainbow sprinkles
Simply slice the angel food cake through the center, add Reddi-wip and fresh strawberry slices, pop the lid back on top, add more Reddi-wip, and then rainbow sprinkles to the top.
Fairy bread
Fairy bread is a traditional party food in Australia, and one that my kids absolutely love for a special treat too.
What you need
- Bread slices
- Rainbow sprinkles
- Butter or margarine
- Heart-shaped cookie cutter
Slice the crust off the bread, add a thin layer of butter or margarine to one slice, top with sprinkles – I normally pour the sprinkles into a shallow dish, then turn the buttered bread upside down into it. Use a cookie cutter to cut a fun shape in the center of the bread that will go on top so the sprinkles peek through.
Fortune cookies
What you need
- Fortune cookies
- White chocolate
- Rainbow sprinkles
Add a fun twist to regular fortune cookies (which I picked up at a specialty store) but dipping them in melted white chocolate and then rolling them in rainbow sprinkles.
Chocolate sprinkles doughnut holes
These required absolutely no effort on my part. I simply purchased them at Walmart.
