How to make Pita Bread Christmas Tree appetizers for holiday entertaining.
I made these last Christmas for a street party. The recipe is in the Pillsbury Holiday Appetizers and Mini Desserts magazine (#319) November 2007. Although this magazine is no longer available in stores, apparently you can order back issues from the Pillsbury website.
These were very quick and easy to make.
Ingredients:
- pita pockets
- thin pretzel sticks (halved)
- 1/2 cup fat-free sour cream
- 1/2 cup guacamole
- 2 tbs chopped parsley
- 1/4 tsp garlic/pepper blend
- 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper.
To make:
Grab the recipe for the full directions for making these, but as you can see, they are fairly self-explanatory and can be covered and refrigerated for up to 8 hours before serving, which is perfect if you are entertaining guests.

OH my goodness, those are just too cute!!! I love them!-sandy toes
ok aussie mummy, where are you in California…I swear we were separated at birth (“a champagne sipping, chocolate eating, camera carrying, crafty, shopoholic mummy”) and while I’m a mommy, the similarities are uncanny!
I love them. They are great. I will be doing them this Christmas.
what a treat your blog is..this made me smile today and I think I will try making some Pita trees myself.
so festive!
