The WINNER drawn by random.org is:

Vanessa (@FrenchFoodieMom) … Popcorn is a huge favorite in our house too. The kids love nothing better than movie night with a big bowl of popcorn. Other healthy snacks include cheese, pretzels, baby carrots, and apples. But popcorn is for sure the runaway favorite.

Let's talk snacking during the holiday season shall we.

So, what do we snack on at our house?

I'm not going to pretend that I don't like Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark or those delicious Dark Peppermint Lindor Truffles, cause really, that once a year when they come out, I live for that.  But those snacks, I'm normally inhaling tasting whilst hiding in the laundry room pretending to wash clothes, sitting on the kitchen floor while the kids aren't looking "cleaning out the fridge or cabinets" or hiding snacks under the side table next to the couch while the kids are distracted in the other room.  Surely I can't be the only one who does this.  And no I'm not setting the greatest example for the kids, but hey, they don't catch me … most of the time.

To them though, this is the best snack EVER

You got it, popcorn.  We ALWAYS have popcorn in the house.   The kids love it.  It's perfect for movie nights, snacks after school, snack-cups for holiday and birthday parties, and for putting into little bags to take on road trips.

So what are your kids favorite snacks, and what do you snack on during the holidays?

Join me tonight to discuss.  I'll be hanging about on #gno (on twitter) from 6pm PST as one of the panelists for the Orville Redenbacher's Healthy Snacking during the Holiday Season twitter party.

My favorite healthy holiday snacks are Satsuma oranges. They are a Christmas tradition at our house and the kids love them! They are easy to pack in the kids’ lunches and don’t require extra packaging.

Bonus Entry #1: The chewy popcorn bars sound good. 🙂

I don’t ‘tweet’, totally behind the times I know, but I LOVE the new lime and salt flavor! Healthy snacks for the holidays…never! I’ve been sneaking the chocolates from the advent calendar that I intended for my son 🙂

Favorite holiday snack…I have to be honest! Peanut Butter Fudge! The kind that is so sweet it hurts your teeth? And then…a pickle. I swear I am not pregnant! Just have to balance out the sweet and the salty. Although thinking about it, popcorn would be yummy substitute!

My favorite healthy holiday snack? This will sound weird…but it’s actually day-old popcorn.

My family loves to make popcorn and then just let it sit in a giant bowl on the kitchen counter. We aren’t allowed to touch it until the next day. But it is sooo worth the wait.
