While catching up on Ugly Betty and The Office this afternoon I knitted a funky cleaning cloth. In my effort to be more eco-friendly and eventually stop using paper towels I thought this would be a great start.
I tested it this afternoon to clean the main bathroom mirror, the outside of the refrigerator and microwave and WOW what a great job my little cloth did.
The idea for this came from Berlin's Whimsy who posted a tutorial some time ago to knit dish scrubbies.
Unfortunately I didn't have size 9 needles, cotton worsted weight yarn (I'm not even sure I know what that is), or medium tulle (does that come in different sizes?). What I did have was 100% cotton yarn (leftover from teddy bears I'd knitted the twins while I was pregnant) that I'd picked up in a re-sale store about 5 years ago for a couple of dollars, some 4.5 needles and leftover tulle from a previous project.

That looks really great! I’m trying not to use paper towels either anymore, but I’m just using regular washcloths. I never would have thought to make something attractive like this to use instead, great idea!
Reminds me of my my grandma…thanks for the memory…..yours is much sassier but she used to make these..:)
