The unfinished wood aisle at Michael's is brimming with possibilities.  They have rows of pre-cut shapes, some of them painted, others waiting for a little color and they range in price from 25c to $1.  I picked up quite an assortment of these recently to make ornaments for the kids Christmas trees.  As I was sifting through our Christmas decorations I came across bags of ornament ties.  Honestly, I don't even remember purchasing these, but most likely did at the after Christmas sales last year.  I attached the ties to the back of each wood shape by tapping a small round fabric stud through the ribbon and into the wood with a hammer.

Flynn's car, train and helicopter came painted, but didn't match the color of the ornaments on his tree so I spruced them up a little with some regular paint and then splashed a little glitter paint over the top.

Marisol's butterfly and heart were unfinished, so using mod podge I attached scrapbook paper to each and then decorated using a combination of paint and scrapbook embellishments.
